Experience the
Math Culture Shift

Building cultures of MathemAtical Problem Solving @ PCA

October 8-9
Chicago, Illinois

Spend two days at Polaris Charter Academy where math feels different—where student thinking drives the learning, teachers cultivate a culture of problem-solving, and leaders ensure the vision lives in every classroom (Grades K-8).

🔎 What We’ll Explore

  • The beliefs and practices essential to creating and sustaining a school-wide culture of mathematical problem solving

  • The Polaris Charter Academy Math Vision — and the leadership structures and classroom practices that bring it to life from the very start of the school year

  • How student-centered, inquiry-based lesson structures support deep mathematical understanding

  • How to craft questions that foster a culture of problem solving — and test them out with students in real time

  • How to increase access and challenge through routines and progressions of models and strategies

🛠️ How We’ll Explore

  • Visit model classrooms and participate in a labsite, where you'll co-anticipatory plan, observe, and debrief a live lesson alongside the labsite host.

  • Hear directly from students about the impact of learning through inquiry.

  • Experience instructional best practices as a learner — with professional development sessions designed to reflect the same engagement, challenge, and discourse we seek for our students.

  • Collaboratively plan for your own classroom — and leave with ready-to-use resources to support a shift toward a stronger math culture.

Who should attend?

K–8 teachers, coaches, and school or district leaders who believe everyone can thrive in math, and are ready to build a culture that proves it.
